So Darrell was given tickets to both the UT/FLorida game and the Titans game last weekend. Instead of sitting around the house as a football widow, I packed up the kids and headed to Memphis. I never miss a chance to see my folks and now Uncle Paul is living there so it is even more fun. As a bonus I got to meet Uncle P's new "friend." Lots of fun playing games and eating yummy home-cooked food with the fam and Sue Sue.
I had to post this next picture of Jackson, because on the last blog I had a picture of him playing with a mermaid. This trip Gee and Grandaddy bought these cool blocks and Jackson made cars and swings and lots of boy things. Yeah! (insert sigh of relief from darrell)Friday, September 26, 2008

Silly Kiddos
Lauren, our neighbor had a birthday last night and we were invited over for cupcakes-YUM! Jackson and Linley love playing with them and it is really fun to have a couple that Darrell and I like to hang out with while the kids are going crazy. Yes, my son is playing with a "wormmaid." And yes, Darrell had a fit. Eventually, Brooks brought down some Powerrangers for Jackson to play with.
Linley pretty much likes any male that will giver her attention. She loved Brooks holding her.

Linley got her first taste of a biscuit this weekend. I try hard to keep bread away, so she doesn't become a carb addict like her mom. She loved it on Saturday and today she won't eat it. Who knows.

So we finally put our house on the market. (Great time-we know) The good news is that we aren't in any major rush to sell it, but we did have to work like dogs to get it ready. Here are Jackson and Darrell staining the deck!

Great Grands and Skate Night
Grandma and Grandpa from Florida came by to see us last weekend. Jackson was looking forward to their visit all week and wasn't disappointed when Grandma brought him a jumbo size bag of Airheads.
Linley wanted nothing to do with Grandma as she won't let any woman hold her, except for me of course. On the other hand, she had no problem letting Grandpa hold her.

Last night my coworker, Amanda and I, organzied our employee event at Brentwood Skate Center. I haven't skated in years, but after a few laps around the track I was feeling pretty good.
I was feeling pretty good until we played LIMBO! I should caution all of you adults who still think you can roller skate limbo the way you did when you were 12-Trust me you can't and my sore tailbone is proof:)

Labor Day Weekend
So we had a great time at the lake this weekend. Jackson is becoming quite the daredevil on the screamer. He takes some pretty good bumps and turns these days and comes up asking for more. We definitely have some water babies on our hands. We are thinking next year he will be ready for the Mickey Mouse skis.
His rides are getting a little rough for Grams, but she keeps hanging on.

Girls Weekend and Birthday
I had the best birthday weekend. Darrell's present to me was to get to go to Winterville, NC with all of my girlfriends from college to hang out and see Becca's new daughter, Skylar. We all got there Friday afternoon and had a blast. We ate and shopped too much, but we lived by the motto that calories don't count when shared with friends. Tyler, Becca's husband, was the biggest trooper. He kept Skylar for us so we could come and go as we pleased.
We made Potts catch up on all the blogs .
Here is the guitar band. I know this game has a name, but I don't know it. It was really fun even though none of us made it even half way through the song. Don't Lar and Kristy look like they sould be in a grunge band?
The best hostess, Becca and SKylar. Becca made eveything from scratch all weekend-yum
Lar-pooped after the shopping and big dinner. I think she laughed so hard at our sentence game that she just couldn't stay up anymore.
Fun girls on the deck

Birthday Girl
I had to add these two pictures, because they are of Linley's 1st girl toys. Poor girl has been playing with Jackson's hand me downs for so long now. She loves the baby doll and her stroller. Of course she always put the baby in upside down.

Linley's 1st Birthday was so fun. Jackson decided that she needed a carousel cake and I decided that I wanted to make it. Mom found a cake separater set for me but the rest was up to us. I started out early Saturday morning and here is the finished product. Oh yeah and Jackson added the pre-licked lollipop to the top! The most fun part for me was making the rolled buttercream icing and then creating designs with it.
Here are the kids waiting to help blow out the candle. By the way the candle is the same one used for Darrell, his brother, his sister and Jackson for their first birthdays. Can you believe it? THe clowns head is almost melted.

I didn't get many pictures of the present opening, but her she is in her brand new swing. She loved it.

Tush Hog and the Russels
We had a great Sunday. Lauren, big Paul and Paul Carter came over-and of course Aunts Mandi and Potts. The kids LOVED playing with big Paul. I think he was the only one with enough energy to be silly.
Big Paul swinging PC-his laugh was sooo cute!
My favorite part was when big Paul asked Jackson to bring him a pillow and Jackson brought the whole couch cushion-how obedient!
