Girls Weekend and Birthday

I had the best birthday weekend. Darrell's present to me was to get to go to Winterville, NC with all of my girlfriends from college to hang out and see Becca's new daughter, Skylar. We all got there Friday afternoon and had a blast. We ate and shopped too much, but we lived by the motto that calories don't count when shared with friends. Tyler, Becca's husband, was the biggest trooper. He kept Skylar for us so we could come and go as we pleased.

We made Potts catch up on all the blogs .
Here is the guitar band. I know this game has a name, but I don't know it. It was really fun even though none of us made it even half way through the song. Don't Lar and Kristy look like they sould be in a grunge band? The best hostess, Becca and SKylar. Becca made eveything from scratch all weekend-yum
Lar-pooped after the shopping and big dinner. I think she laughed so hard at our sentence game that she just couldn't stay up anymore.Fun girls on the deck

Birthday Girl

I had to add these two pictures, because they are of Linley's 1st girl toys. Poor girl has been playing with Jackson's hand me downs for so long now. She loves the baby doll and her stroller. Of course she always put the baby in upside down.

Linley's 1st Birthday was so fun. Jackson decided that she needed a carousel cake and I decided that I wanted to make it. Mom found a cake separater set for me but the rest was up to us. I started out early Saturday morning and here is the finished product. Oh yeah and Jackson added the pre-licked lollipop to the top! The most fun part for me was making the rolled buttercream icing and then creating designs with it.

Here are the kids waiting to help blow out the candle. By the way the candle is the same one used for Darrell, his brother, his sister and Jackson for their first birthdays. Can you believe it? THe clowns head is almost melted.

I didn't get many pictures of the present opening, but her she is in her brand new swing. She loved it.

Tush Hog and the Russels

We had a great Sunday. Lauren, big Paul and Paul Carter came over-and of course Aunts Mandi and Potts. The kids LOVED playing with big Paul. I think he was the only one with enough energy to be silly. Big Paul swinging PC-his laugh was sooo cute!

Of course Jackson couldn't be left out of the swinging!
My favorite part was when big Paul asked Jackson to bring him a pillow and Jackson brought the whole couch cushion-how obedient!
Here is PC giving Linley smooches. He didn't pay much attention to Jackson but didn't mind sharing the love with Linley.

Here are my tush hogs-not so much Jackson anymore, but Linley hasn't met a food she won't eat. She made sure to position herself right next to this popcorn bowl.

Williamson County Fair

Mac and Polly took all of us to the fair last night. Being from Memphis, the Williamson County Fair is a little different than what I am used to. The fair was super clean and even the Funnel Cake trailer didn't have a speck of powdered sugar on the counter! I wish I could say the same for Darrell.
I didn't take many pics, but here are a few. Thanks Grams and MacDaddy for taking us and for my yummy funnel cake.

On another note Jackson and I are preparing to make Linley's 1st Birthday cake. Instead of buying one we thought it would be fun to make it. Anyway Jackson decided she should have a carousel cake. Any help on the planning of how in the world to make a Carousel cake would be fantastic-it could be an adventure for us.

Updating

We had a fun and productive weekend. I have been trying to cross some projects off of my to-do list in case Darrell and I ever decide to sell our home so I started with our terrible kitchen border. Here are some pics of our weekend.

We pulled down the hideous wallpaper border in our kitchen-I can't believe it came off so easily. I was armed with all the tools necessary to spend hours taking this down and Jackson was able to pull it off in a single sheet. Here he is pretending to be Cruella deVille.

We also got to meet Mary Margaret-what a cutie!

Linley got to wear a birthday outfit from Grandma and Grandpa in Florida!
And finally-Darrell and I took this picture as our SECOND car went over 100,000 miles. It is not a good feeling to know that both cars are reaching major repair points, but there is nothing like a goofy picture to make it seem a little better. Don't worry Grams we were stopped when we snapped the shot.

So for all of you that think Linley is "so cute" Darrell and I decided to capture her normal behavior. She goes from happy to full blown tantrum in the time it takes to set her down.

It didn't even end there, but we couldn't take anymore so daddy finally picked her up.
